Duane R. Namuth

1936 to 2014


Duane R. Namuth, 78 of Sidney, passed away Wed., Sept. 3, 2014 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 11th in the Sidney Church of Christ with Dustin Rocha officiating. Cremation will follow the services with private family inurnment in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for future designation.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Duane's care and funeral arrangements.

Duane Rudolph Namuth, the son of Rudolph Henry and Marguerite Viola (Zimmerman) Namuth was born on May 15, 1936 in Sidney. He grew up south of Sunol, graduating with the Class of 1954 from Sunol High School where he participated in basketball for four years. On June 12, 1960 Duane was united in marriage to Dianne Elaine Blue at Julesburg. They made their home in Sidney where they lived for more than fifty years. Duane was employed for thirty-seven years with the Pfizer Corporation in Sidney and retired as a Supervisor in 1998. Duane was a member of the Sidney Elks Lodge, loved watching his grandchildren in their activities, enjoyed fishing and camping and was a former member of the Sidney Planning Commission.

Survivors include: his wife Dianne; (1) son: Kevin Namuth and wife LaDonna; (1) daughter: Kristi Namuth; (2) grandchildren: Delanie and Jayce Namuth all of Sidney; brothers: Ronald Namuth and wife Paige of Lincoln and Kenneth Namuth and wife Carolyn of Sterling; his in-laws: Neil Blue and wife Joyce of Yuma, Ariz., Jeanine Batt and husband LeRoy of Pine Bluffs, Wyo. and Kenneth Blue of Ogallala and numerous extended family members and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Margean Namuth, his parents-in-law: Earl and Elsie Blue and brothers and sisters-in-law: Duane and Gerry Blue, Keith Blue and Sheryl (Blue) Craghead.
