1946 to 2014

Jim Henzl, 68 of Sidney, died late Monday evening, Sept. 8, 2014 at Sidney Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Fri., Sept. 12, 2014 in the Holechek Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Hyde of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home, friends who wish may sign Jim's register book on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Sidney Regional Medical Center Hospice.

James Roy Henzl, the son of James and Minnie (Mika) Henzl was born March 24, 1946 at Sidney. Jim grew up on the family's farm south of Sunol and attended the Lodgepole schools until the family moved to Sidney when he was ten years old. He graduated from Sidney High school in 1965.

Jim married Sandra J (Kealy) Tadolini on June 14, 1997 in Sidney.

Jim was a Siding and Gutter Contractor, and worked farming the family's farm south of Sunol. He was well known business man throughout the County. He was known by all. He was a much cherished husband, father and grandfather. He loved farming and gardening. Jim was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan, and Denver Bronco fan. When Jim was in High School he started playing in bands which lead him to play with the Cal Cutright band for 19 years.

He was also a member of Sidney Elks Lodge and had served with the Nebraska National Guard.

Survivors include wife Sandra Henzl of Sidney; one son Shad E. Henzl of Denver; 2 daughters; Misti D. Charles (Dennis) and Brooke A. Henzl (Will Schwark) all of Sidney; step-daughters: Shannon M. Lange (Jim) of North Platte and Brandy J. Kuhns (Andy) of Sidney; 2 brothers: Glen Henzl of Sidney and Wayne Henzl of Houston; sister Bernice Nelson (Al) of Miles City, Mont .; 2 grandchildren Dylan Charles and Kyler Charles and 4 step-grandchildren: Coleman Riggins, Cooper Lange, Alaina Kuhns and Madison Kuhns.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother John.

Holechek Funeral Homes and Cremation in Sidney is serving the Henzl family.
