1950 to 2014

Kathy Brown, 64 of Marble, Colo. and former Sidney resident died unexpectedly Mon., Aug. 18, 2014.

Funeral services were held in the Marble Community Church on Aug. 31. Graveside inurnment will be at 2 p.m., Tues., Sept. 16 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Kathleen June Brown, the daughter of Frank and Mamie Jane Trowbridge was born on June 22, 1950 in Sidney. She spent most of her childhood in Nebraska before moving to Denver. On June 11, 1988, she was united in marriage to Joe Brown in Littleton. He was the love of her life, always standing by her side. Not only was he her husband, but he was also her best friend. They moved to Marble in 2004, enjoying the small town lifestyle where they continued to live out their dreams and twenty-six years of marriage. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, going shopping and helping support Colorado's Parks and Recreation. She was a lady of many talents, some of which were featured locally. Kathy love to travel around in her red Plymouth Neon car and her favorite movie was Despicable Me.

Before passing, Kathy was also able to fulfill two of her lifelong dreams. One was to drive the ATV with her husband riding on the back as they 4-wheeled around the beautiful mountains of their hometown of Marble. The other was to go Whitewater rafting, which she did in the summer of 2012 with her close friends and family. She was a gentle, kind-hearted woman, always caring for others without thinking twice. Kathy was willing to help so many people in so many ways throughout her life.

Survivors include: her husband: Joe Brown of Marble; her mother: Mamie Jane Tafolla of Littleton; her (2) children: Joey and Cory; her siblings: Jim Trowbridge and wife Jeri, Judy Uribe and Sandy Lopez and husband Tino all of Sidney, Wayne Tafolla of Littleton, Tony Tafolla of Sidney and Randy Tafolla and wife Linda of Windsor; (1) sister-in-law: Lupe Trowbridge of Sidney, (5) Grandchildren, (1) Great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father: Frank, her step-father: Taff, (1) brother David Earl Trowbridge and a baby daughter: Janie.
