Sidney cross country sweeps Ogallala Invite

The Sidney boys’ and girls’ cross country teams swept the Ogallala Invite Thursday afternoon. The boys registered a score of 25, while the girls posted a 30. It’s the second consecutive meet in which both Red Raider teams placed first.

As he did last Friday in McCook, senior Jachob Wiedeburg came in first overall out of 112 male runners with a season-best time of 17:36, finishing 18 seconds ahead of second-place Jaco Henning of Ogallala. Senior Hayden Lieneman came in about a half second behind Henning for third place. For Lieneman, it was his second Top 5 finish of the season.
