1931 to 2014

John Clarence Hart, 82 of Aurora, Colo. and formerly of Sidney, died Saturday morning Oct. 4, 2014 in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 13, 2014 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with the Pastor Jim Gerhold from the Christian Life Center officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Lodgepole, NE.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 12, 2014 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

John was born on Dec. 16, 1931 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Deines) Hart on a farm in Briggsdale, Colo. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War.

He married Verna (Brehm), his wife of 58 years, in 1955 at Minatare. After coming home from serving in the Navy, John worked as a roofer for several years in Sidney until he moved to Aurora in 1966. Then he worked for the Rocky Mt. Arsenal until his retirement in 1987.

John was a loving husband, proud father, and very much beloved by all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed time spent with family, working on cars and keeping up his yard and home. John will be missed in this world by all who loved him dearly.

John is survived by his wife, Verna Hart of Aurora; his four children: David (Lorraine) Hart of Tolleson, Ariz., Steven (Heidi) Hart of Golden, Robert (Lisa) Hart of Aurora, and Misty (Damon) Wilson of Saint David, Ariz .; Grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy, Jessica, Joyce, Adam, Andy, Nichole, Michael, Connor, Ryan and Carli; 15 Great-children; 2 Great-great grandchildren; his brothers: George (Lois) Hart of Sidney and Don (Joan) Hart of Windsor and his sister, Betty Hurst of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Lee, Barbara, and Marian, and his infant triplet grandsons and his infant angel grandchildren.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Hart family.
