Boot Hill Cemetery: Full of many characters

As Halloween nears, Sidney residents should be aware of some history that's both interesting and a bit scary.

Kathy Wilson of the Sidney restoration committee said that Boot Hill Cemetery is a site that all area residents should see.

"This was Sidney's original cemetery," Wilson said. "It's an unusual cemetery because it has doctors, historians and businessmen. Yet, it also holds members from the underbelly of society such as robbers, thieves and killers."

Boot Hill Cemetery has been around since 1868, and it hosts a plethora of interesting characters. Some were innocent people whose lives end...

I sincerely doubt Hickok was ever in Sidney. He went to Deadwood on the Cheyenne route. He reached Cheyenne by traveling across Kansas to Denver and hence to Cheyenne.
