Janice Fay (Caine) Gumbir

1941 to 2014

Janice Fay (Caine) Gumbir, 73, entered eternal glory on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at her home in Peetz. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21 at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling, with Rev. James Nash officiating.

Janice was born on Jan. 11, 1941, in Sterling, to Clarence Caine and Iva Morris. She graduated from Kimball County High School. She was married to her loving husband, Jerry F. "Gump" Gumbir, for 44 years. She worked at Kimball County Hospital until 1984; after, Janice was a florist at Safeway until she retired in 2000. Janice was a member of the Sidney Art Guild; she loved painting, gardening, ceramics, quilting, sewing, and crafts.

Janice is survived by her son, Kvyn, daughter Jodie Nienhuser and son-in-law Greg, daughter Jennifer Ingwersen and son-in-law Donald; grandchildren: Jessica, Kellsie, Jeffrey, Jerold, Jaclyn, Joanna, and Lexie; her brother Richard Caine and his wife Donna, sister-in-law Catherine Schlosser, and brother-in-law Kenneth Florance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Carol Florance and Leila Hagen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Janice Gumbir Memorial Fund in care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
