Send your Christmas wishes to military members in veteran’s hospitals. Visit the Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday (Dec. 8-11 and Dec. 15-18) to sign a card or write a note. Cards, envelopes and postage are provided and they will be mailed on Dec. 20.

Saturday, Dec. 6

The Cheyenne County Community Center will be hosting a Hand Crafted Fair in the meeting rooms from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 6. Call Kiersten Richards 308-254-7000 for more information.

Christmas Craft Show held at Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp on Sat., Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call Brenda at 254-7131 for info.

Special Showing of “The Christmas Box” Hallmark movie, Hosted by the Living Memorial Gardens – Angel of Hope, Sidney, on Sat., Dec. 6th at 2 p.m. at Fox Theatre in downtown Sidney. This Hallmark movie is based upon the book, The Christmas Box, written by author Richard Paul Evans and is rated “G”. Admission is FREE, with a donation of 2 canned goods. Other donations are appreciated. There will be door prizes and drawings. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, contact Steve or Rita Anest at 254-7370.

Thursday, Dec. 11

The Sidney Youth Choir will perform a concert in the high school’s Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. The middle school and high school choirs will follow with a performance at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 13

A free Christmas Crafts event will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 from 1-3 p.m. at the Sidney Public Library. Children in grades kindergarten-5th are invited to make an ornament. Call 254-3110 to reserve a spot.

A Teen Movie Afternoon will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 from 3-6 p.m. at the Sidney Public Library. The is free and food will be provided.

A Santa’s Secret Elves Workshop will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Sidney Elks Lodge from 9-11 a.m. CHildren ages 5 and older are invited to attend and there is a cost. Sunday, Dec. 14

A Worldwide Candle Lighting event will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Sidney Evangelical Free Church, 2763 11th Ave., Sidney. This marks the 18th anniversary of the event, which is held worldwide on the second Sunday of December in honor of children who have died. For more information, contact Deanna Flamig at 254-4450.

Thursday, Dec. 16

The Sidney 6th-12th grade band concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.

Sunday, Dec. 21

Santa Claus will visit the Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. He will be there for pictures and to hand out treats.

Thursday, Dec. 25th

Free 23rd Annual Christmas Dinner held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Everyone welcome!!
