Karen Haase of KSB School Law will be giving a presentation on social media that’s open to parents of Sidney Public Schools students on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Sidney High School. The event is free. If you have questions, contact principal Chris Arent.

Thursday, Jan. 15

The Panhandle Quilt Guild will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the First Baptist Church, 1402 T St., Bridgeport. Coffee is at 9:00. A pot-luck holiday celebration will be held. Bring homemade pin-cushions for exchange. Jan Sears will present “Appraisals and Tips about Quilts,” followed by a “Ten Minute Blocks” class presented by Tina Graham and Heather Harsh.

Wednesday, Jan. 21

The Western Nebraska Development Network will be meeting in Potter on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bags’ Bar and Restaurant (940 Front St.). The agenda includes presenters from the Potter Historical Foundation and Coyote Caller, along with tours of the Potter Sundry Restaurant and Duckpin Bowling Lanes; with the focus of the meeting on community development and improvements made in Potter. Friday, Jan. 23

Saturday, Jan. 31

The Crane Trust will hold a volunteer training session on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for people interested in serving as guides for viewing blind tours during the 2015 Spring Crane Migration. It will be held at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center, located on the south side of Interstate 80 at the Alda Exit (#305).
