Traffic stop leads to arrest after 35 pounds of marijuana discovered

KEARNEY, Neb. – A weekend traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Buffalo County led to the seizure of 35 pounds of marijuana and one arrest.

Around 1 p.m. on Sunday, a state trooper stopped an eastbound 2013 Chevy Sonic for failure to maintain its lane, two miles east of the Minden exit on I-80.

An NSP canine indicated to the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A search of the car led to the seizure of 35.4 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was located in duffle bags in the trunk of the vehicle.
