Creek Valley teams place at FFA events

The Creek Valley Future Farmers of America chapter traveled to Scottsbluff earlier this month to attend the Career Development Event.

Several students placed in the competition. They were:

•Ag Sales Team – (Hannah Schievelbein, Dane McConnell, Keith Everitt and Chandra Smith) placed second. Individually, Schievelbein placed 10th and McConnell 14th to both qualify for state.

•Floriculture Team – (Noemi Marin, Josh Schievelbein, Cooper Riley, Allie Blackwelder and Roy Koech) placed 9th. Marin placed 6th individually.

•Welding Team – (Logan Criwell, Hunter Henderickson and Joey Straber). Criwell placed 5th in MIG and Hunter placed 6th in O/A.

•Livestock Management Team – (Jo Hummermeier, Jaden Criswell, Andi Ortigies and Maddy Johnson) placed 14th.

The chapter also previously attended the Leadership Skills Events Contest in Chadron. Those who participated, with those of placed, were:

•Creed Speaking: Allie Blackwelder-White, Sami Schmid-Blue

•Extempt Speaking: Nash Leef took 3rd

•Jr. Parli Pro Team: (Josh Schivelbein, Jaden Criswell, Maddy Johnson, Andi Ortigies, Pierce Leef, Payje Misegadis and Sami Schmid) – Red

•Sr. Parli Pro Team: (Nash Leef, Logan Criswell, Roy Koech, Dane McConnell, Chandra Smith and Joey Straber) took 2nd and qualified for the state FFA convention.
