Western Nebraska Community College nursing students will take part in the Diabetes Health Fair at Regional West Medical Center on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 5-7 p.m. The health fair, hosted by the Regional West Physicians Clinic and the Diabetes Care Center, is open to the public and takes place in Medical Plaza South room 1202. The Sidney Public Library will offer the “Being Together is Fun” program for children in kindergarten through sixth grade on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. The program supports constructive fun and fellowship with theme-related games and activities. Call 254-3110 for more information.

A mini-health fair will be hosted by the Regional West Physicians Clinic-Diabetes Care Center, with help from Western Nebraska Community College nursing students, on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Medical Plaza South meeting room 1202. The mini-fair will be geared toward persons with diabetes and pre-diabetes and will feature interactive booths that focus on the parts of the body affected most by diabetes, including the eyes, feet, nerves, heart, and kidneys. Friday, Jan. 30

The Unboxed Theater Workshop will be held on Jan. 30 from 7-9 p.m. at the Sidney Fine Arts Center Performance Hall. An introduction to independent theater productions and a historical review of Commedia Delle’ Arte are planned.

Saturday, Jan. 31

The Missoula Children’s Theater production of “The Wizard of Oz” will held Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Sidney High School Fine Arts Center. (1100 19th Ave.) Two actor/coaches along with 60-70 local students in grades K-12 will bring the Wizard of Oz to life. Tickets sold at the high school.

The Crane Trust will hold a volunteer training session on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for people interested in serving as guides for viewing blind tours during the 2015 Spring Crane Migration. It will be held at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center, located on the south side of Interstate 80 at the Alda Exit (#305). RSVP to Karen Krull Robart at (308) 384.4633 ext. 5 no later than Friday, Jan. 16th. A light lunch will be served.

Monday, Feb. 2

4-H 101: Learn how to make the most of you and your child’s 4-H experience. Cheyenne County Fairgrounds on Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. Activities for youth will be available. The Compassionate Friends Valentine’s Dinner will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant. This is our Annual Valentine’s Dinner. Come and join us for food and fellowship. Tuesdays, Feb. 3-March 10

The Nebraska Master Gardener Program is offering classes for those interested in horticulture on Tuesday nights, from Feb. 3 through March 10 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Western Nebraska Community College’s Sidney campus. Class topics include: water wise landscapes, tree pruning, beneficial insects and insect pests, wildlife damage and more. Participants must pre-register for the classes.
