4-H 101: Learn how to make the most of you and your child’s 4-H experience. Cheyenne County Fairgrounds on Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. Activities for youth will be available. The Jr. Friends of the Sidney Library will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the library. Youth in 7th through 12th grade are invited. This is a service-oriented organization. Call the library ay (308) 254-3110 for more information.

The quarterly meeting of the Nebraska Leafy Spurge Working Task Force will be held Thursday, Feb. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the North Central NE RC&D office in Bassett, Neb. The meeting is open to the public.

Saturday, Feb. 7

The Crane Trust will hold a volunteer training session on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for people interested in serving as greeters, gift shop assistants or snack bar workers during the 2015 Spring Crane Migration. It will be held at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center, located on the south side of Interstate 80 at the Alda Exit (#305). The Compassionate Friends Valentine’s Dinner will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant. This is our Annual Valentine’s Dinner. Come and join us for food and fellowship. Tuesdays, Feb. 3-March 10

The Nebraska Master Gardener Program is offering classes for those interested in horticulture on Tuesday nights, from Feb. 3 through March 10 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Western Nebraska Community College’s Sidney campus. Class topics include: water wise landscapes, tree pruning, beneficial insects and insect pests, wildlife damage and more. Participants must pre-register for the classes.
