Leyton recovers from early deficit

The Leyton Lady Warriors (8-10) overcame a seven point first-quarter deficit to post a 45-40 victory over the Creek Valley Lady Storm (6-10) on Friday at Chappell in a non-district contest.

The Warriors fell behind 13-6 after eight minutes but rallied to take a 22-20 halftime lead. Leyton was able to add an addtional three points to its margin over the third eight minutes before fighting to an 11-11 draw over the final period.

Kaitlyn Berner was tops in scoring for the Warriors with 13 points while Diedra Waite finished with 11. Dani McKay and Shaela Jenkins tacked on eight and six points r...
