Nine arrested in area drug bust by WING task force

Investigators from the Wing Drug Task Force arrested nine individuals in the southern panhandle of Nebraska on counts of distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.

The cases and arrests are from an investigation that was started in 2014.

Investigators from the WING Drug Task Force were assisted by officers from the Nebraska State Patrol, Kimball Police Department, Sidney Police Department., Kimball County Sheriff’s Office and the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrested were:

• Gary Vanatter Jr., 26 of Sidney, one count distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a playground

• Leif Schleiker, 28 of Sidney, one count of distribution of marijuana

• Justin Grimm, 21 of Sidney, two Counts of distribution of marijuana

• Julian Salinas, 21 of Sidney, one count of possession of methamphetamine

• Rusty Warren, 34 of Kimball, two counts of distribution of methamphetamine

• Shawn Morrison, 23 of Kimball, one count distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park

• Daryl Burt, 55 of Kimball, one count distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park

• Charles Smith, 45 of Kimball, one count distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park

• Steve Warner, 51 of Kimball, four counts of distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

The investigation is on-going and additional arrests are anticipated.

The WING Drug Task Force is partially funded by a grant from the Nebraska Crime Commission and a grant from Midwest HIDTA.
