1928 to 2015

Donna Hartman, 86 of North Platte and a former resident of Sidney for over sixty years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, Feb. 19, 2015 at the North Platte Care Center in North Platte.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tues., March 3, 2015 in the First Christian Church in Sidney with Dr. Curtis Davis officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the First Christian Church.

Donna Faye Hartman, the daughter of Ralph and Ruby (Paris) Harlan, was born Sept. 22, 1928 in Sidney with her twin Bonna Maye, who died at childbirth. She grew up on a farm south of Sidney. She graduated from Lorenzo High School in 1946.

On Aug. 15, 1948 she married George Henry Hartman and to this union one son, George Harlan Hartman was born.

Donna was employed numerous place during her working days, including F. W. Woolworth, the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Department, Holly Realty and the Cheyenne County Veterans Service Office.

She was a member of the DOES, American Legion Auxiliary, Sweet Adeline's, and was a member and past president of the Englebert Humperdink fan club, meeting him numerous times in Las Vegas. She enjoyed watching food network, sharing recipes with and asking advice from her son who is a chef. She enjoyed collecting carrousel horses and playing the organ and was famous for making tubs of cookies for her son and grandkids at Christmas.

Survivors include her husband George and son George, Jr. and wife Jeannie of North Platte; honorary son Rodney Born of Lewellen; sister Rev. Doris Harlan of Sidney; four grandchildren: Kendra (Mark) Laschanzky and Jonathan Hartman all of Denver, Luke (Kayla) Hartman of Kearney and Katie (Jared) Matson of North Platte; two step-grandchildren Brandy (Tim) of North Platte and Stephanie of Wahoo; five great-grandchildren: Lucas, Nevaeh, Aleena, Jayda and Maddux and three step, great-grandchildren: Keenan, Kayle and Kaci.

She was preceded in death by her sister, parents, brother and sister-in-law and numerous aunts and uncles.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Hartman family.
