The Nebraska Master Gardener Program is offering classes for those interested in horticulture on Tuesday nights through March 10 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Western Nebraska Community College’s Sidney campus. In celebration of the author Dr. Seuss, the Friends of the Sidney Public Library is hosting a Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2 at the Sidney Public Library, 1112 12th Ave. Crafts, games and story time will be part of the free event.

Tuesday, March 3

The Jr. Friends of the Library will be meeting Tuesday, March 3 at the Sidney Public Library. This session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and welcomes youth 7th through 12th grade. Our emphasis is on community service which can involve a variety of activities locally and or regionally. Those interested are asked to call the library or stop by for a visit. This is a great time for fun and fellowship!

Lifetree Café will host a program on how to overcome economic, racial and other divisions on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m. The program, titled “Coming Together: Finding Common Ground When It Seems Impossible,” features a screening of the lighthearted, award-winning South African short film “Kanyekanye.” Admission to the 60-minute event is free. The Sunol (Neb.) Community Center will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, March 8 at 5 p.m. at the center. Pot luck dinner will follow. Open to all.

The Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole will hold a “Computer Helps” class on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. Bring your questions or just come to learn the basics. Bring your own laptop if you want Call the library to register Instructor will be Marty Savely.

The Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole will hold a “Jigsaw Puzzle” tournament on Sunday, April 19 from 1-5 p.m. Teams consist of two adults. Registration ends March 23 at 5 p.m.
