Marty Geiger II

1969 to 2015

Marty Geiger II, 45, passed away Tues., April 7, 2015.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Mon., April 13th in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kelvin Boltjes officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in care of Marty's mother, Kathy Solberg, POB 256, Potter, NE 69156. Memorial funds will be used to benefit youth programs in the area.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Marty's care and funeral arrangements.

Martin Glenn "Marty" Geiger II, the son of Martin Glenn Geiger and Kathryn Paulette (Wilson) Geiger was born on Sept. 17, 1969 in Sidney. He attended Sidney Public Schools and graduated in 1989. Marty married Deaneane Ward and they had two children, Diandra and Darrion. Marty loved his motorcycles, old pickups and cars. He enjoyed camping at Lake McConaughy and was so proud of and loved his brothers, nephews and nieces. He was most proud to be a dad and grandfather. Marty had a passion for oil rigs and was well known in the oil fields. He loved putting on that hard hat and going out to see his son working on the rigs. Marty loved wrestling and cheering on his brothers. He even continued to watch their matches on video. Marty loved to visit and had a smile and a hug for everyone he met. Marty was so happy and eager to start his new life with fiancé Kathy Berger. They were to be married on June 27, 2015.

Survivors include his children: Darrion Geiger of Sterling and Diandra Geiger and her children, Dammien and Drayton of Blue Springs, Mo.; his fiancé: Kathy Berger of Chappell; his parents: Marty and Jeannie Geiger of Larkspur, Colo. and Kathy and Tom Solberg of Potter; his brothers: Tony and Jennifer Geiger and their children, Marcus, Mason and Maddix of Boise, ID, Brian and Sandra Geiger and their children, Isabella and Giulianna of Castle Rock and Jason and Jenny Rasmussen of Lincoln; his grandfather: Glenn Geiger of Gering; aunts and uncles: Keith Wilson of Cheyenne, Marianne and Tom Kallhoff and Bobbie and Darrell Johnson all of Sidney, Doug and Lyn Wilson of Casper, Loretta and Hap Naprstek of Lexington, Ed and Gloria Wilson and Sam and Jane Wilson all of Sidney, Rex and Pat Wilson of Minatare, Bo and Kathy Wilson and Eddie and Lori Geiger all of Sidney and David and Judy Geiger of Lewellen and numerous cousins and extended family members.

Marty was preceded in death by his grandparents: Donna Geiger and Paul and Millie Wilson and cousins: Tess Wilson, Heidi Best and Jonas Phillips.
