Sidney track teams sweep 'Best' titles

Potter-Dix boys' 4x800 relay team breaks school record

SCOTTSBLUFF – The Sidney High track and field teams made a clean sweep of the girls' and boys' titles at the Best of the West track meet Tuesday, while the Potter-Dix boys' 4x800 relay team set a school record to establish itself as the team to beat in its class at state next month.

The Best of the West is an all-star event of sorts that includes only those athletes who qualified on pervious performances throughout the season. The long list of Sidney qualifiers helped it score 80 points to win the boys' competition by nearly 10 points over runner-up Mitchell (70.5). Alliance scored 61 to...
