Wayne L. Bules

1936 to 2015

Wayne L. Bules passed away peacefully Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, Colo. He was 79 years of age.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta, Colorado followed by a Memorial Service at the Presbyterian Church of Delta.

Wayne L. Bules was born on April 1, 1936 to Karl J. and Katherine (Strasrypha) Bules in Cheyenne County, Nebraska. He spent his childhood and attended school in Cheyenne County.

On Nov. 26, 1961, Wayne married the love of his life Virginia Ruth Roper in Sterling, Colo. To this union three children were born. The couple had the honor of sharing 53 years of love and marriage.

Wayne worked several years in various farming and custom combining jobs before working 25 years in the construction division of Public Service Company of Colorado. Wayne was a member of the Johnstown Volunteer Fire Department, Loveland Elks #1051, and the Presbyterian Church of Delta. Wayne was a jack of all trades, he enjoyed farming, reading westerns, gardening, fishing, hunting, but most of all he adored his family and loved being a papa.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Virginia Bules of Delta; two daughters, Lori Bules of Denver and Tara (Rodney) Gartrell of Idaho Falls, ID; a son, Lee (Tonnie) Bules of Delta; six siblings, Karl J. Bules, Jr. of Chappell, Donna (Ed) Murray of Valley Forge, Pa., Shirley Jurgens of Sidney, Richard (Connie) Bules of Sidney, Ted Bules of Gurley; and Alice (Jim) Ford of Alliance; four grandchildren, Joshua Gartrell of Denver, Allison Gartrell of Washington, DC, Joseph Bules of Delta and Sarah Bules of Delta.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Mildred Bules and brother-in-law, Jerry Jurgens.

In–lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Creek Valley FFA and will be collected by Points West Community Bank, PO Box 548, Chappell, NE 69129.

A Celebration of Life event will be held at the Gurley Community Center at noon on Sunday, May 24, 2015, with a buffet lunch being provided.
