Tuesday, May 12

A boating safety course will be held at Western Nebraska Community College’s Sidney campus on Tuesday, May 12 from 6-9 p.m. The course covers everything from equipment requirements to safe boat operation and accident prevention. There is a fee. For more information, call (308) 289-0017 or email

Wednesday, May 13

The Sidney High School 2014-2015 “Evening of Excellence” will be held Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments in the commons area. The presentation of awards will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Students who have achieved excellence in their high school endeavors will be honored. The public is invited.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Panhandle Mental Health Center invites the public on Wednesday, May 13 from 1-3 p.m. to its office at 4110 Avenue D, Scottsbluff, for coffee with one of its mental health clinicians. Attendees can ask questions, learn about mental health problems and what treatment looks like.

The 2nd Annual Kids Go Fishing Rodeo will be held Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 a.m. at Cedar Vue (Gate 13) at Lake McConaughy. Free event for children ages 3-15.
