Eva I. McGee

1930 to 2015

Eva I. McGee, 84 of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Skyview at Bridgeport.

Her memorial service was held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Church of Christ with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Boys Town or March of Dimes. Tributes of sympathy may be left at http://www.bbchapels.com. Bridgeport Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Eva was born on Oct. 17, 1930 in Dalton to Gustov and Ellen (McMullen) Gilgren. She graduated from Dalton High School in 1948. She married Merle E. McGee on Sept. 16, 1950 in Sidney and they made their home in the Dalton area. They moved to Orchard, Neb. From 1958 to 1972. In 1972, they moved to Bridgeport. Eva worked at Heritage of Bridgeport in 1973, retiring in 1993.

Eva enjoyed gardening and embroidering, watching birds and talking to people. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandson Ron.

Survivors include her daughter Deanna McGee (Joe McKnight) of Kansas City, Mo. and son Gus (Cindy) McGee of Bridgeport; grandchildren Jimmy McGee and Autumn McGee both of Bridgeport and Lynnette Williams and Joseph McGee both of Kansas City, Mo .; several great grandchildren, especially Ron Darner who would light up her life; sister Ruth Zeigler of Scottsbluff and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merle, daughter Rita, several siblings and great granddaughter Alison.
