Morgan R. Burns, 19 of Peetz, Colo., passed away in Peetz, Monday, May 11, 2015.

Vigil Services will be at 6 p.m., Friday, May 15, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 16. Both services will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sidney with Father Robert Wedow officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Peetz.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for future designation in Morgan's name.

Morgan Rae Burns, the daughter of David Allan Burns and Kristine Marie (Fehringer) Burns was born on April 24, 1996 at Sidney. Morgan attended the Peetz Schools and graduated with the Class of 2014. She was a four-year member of FFA and 2012-2013 Vice President, four-year member of FBLA and three-year state qualifier, two-year member of NHS and 2013-2014 Vice President, two-year member of the Accountability Committee, six-year member of Student Council and 2012-2013 Vice President and 2013-2014 President, a one-year Class President and one-year Vice President, was member of the Bulldog Ministry Youth Group where she participated on mission trips to Eden, Jamaica and Lander, Wyo. and was involved with Operation Christmas Child. Morgan was a four-year letter winner in Volleyball and 2013 Team Captain, was on the Colorado Coaches of Girl's Sports All-State Volleyball Team, 2012 and 2013 North Central League All-Conference Volleyball Team and 2012 and 2013 MVP for Volleyball. She was a four-year letter winner in Basketball where she was elected as 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 Team Co-Captain and was on the 2012 All-Conference Basketball Team. Morgan was also a four-year letter winner in track and was selected as the 2012 and 2013 MVP, a three-year multiple event state qualifier in track and selected as the 2012-2013 All-Around Most Valuable Athlete. Morgan worked at the Barista, Peetz Perks, the Sidney Holiday Inn, Maurices in Sterling and was a Library Assistant at the NJC Monahan Library while attending NJC.

Survivors include her mother: Kristine (Fehringer) Burns of Peetz; her father: David Burns of Denver; (1) brother: Jared Burns of Peetz; (2) sisters: Jennifer Burns and her daughter Emalynn Carter of Arvada and Nichole Burns of Kelley, IA; her aunts and uncles: Carrie Fehringer and her son Bryce of Kersey, Colo .; Matt and Kris Fehringer and their children Kyle, Cody and Jamison of Parker and Michael Fehringer and his children Maxwell, Braeden, Kaleigh and Maddi of Aurora and numerous extended family members and friends.

Morgan was preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert and Rita Fehringer and her cousin Kade Fehringer.
