Saturday, June 6

The second annual Leyton Warrior Challenge will be held Saturday, June 6 beginning at 8 a.m. at Leyton High School in Dalton. Proceeds will be used for the resurfacing of the Leyton Elemenatry/Junior High playground. There will be an adult full obstacle course as well as a kids’ course. June 9-13

The Nebraska Chautauqua will present a series featuring six famous characters from U.S. history from June 9-13. The theme for this year’s Chautauqua, first-person portrayals of historical figures, will explore the vast influences of the 1862 legislation. Adult and youth workshops will also be at the Alliance Public Library. For more information, contact Mary Wernke at (308) 487-6397.

Gold Rush 5K at Legion Park

8:05 p.m. – Kid’s 1-mile run, 8:15 p.m. – 5K walkers, 8:30 p.m. – 5K runners. Awards held at 9:15 p.m. Bring a chair, s’more’s fixings and hot dogs to roast over the camp fire and listen to stories. A 4th of July celebration will be held in Oshkosh from Thursday, July 2 through Sunday, July 5. There will be a beer garden
