Sidney Legion teams post sweep of Gordon

Sidney's Jason Hagerman comes off the mound to field a ground ball during Wednesday night's seniors game.

The Sidney American Legion squads made a clean sweep of the Gordon Regulators at Legion Park on Wednesday night with the juniors taking the opener 7-3 and the seniors winning the nightcap by the count of 9-1 in five innings.

Sidney pitchers Zach Holtz, Brett Jaggers and Jackson Witt combined to stymie the Post 34 juniors in the opener. Holtz – the starter – picked up the win after going three innings while giving up one run on three hits and three walks. Gordon travelled to Sidney with just nine players who played in both contests.
