Rammunition set to roll into town, crush cars

Event at Maddox Motors includes free lunches, cash giveaways

Automobile enthusiasts and car junkies will be recognized at Maddox Motor Company's customer appreciation days this Friday and Saturday.

The monster truck Rammunition and its driver Mat Dishman of the Hall Brothers Racing team will also be making an appearance to crush cars during the event.

Dishman said he is excited to show off Rammunition, the 10-foot tall, Ram Heavy Duty monster truck with 66-inch tires.

Hall Brothers Racing team is based out of Champaign, Ill., where they own the entire line of Ram monster trucks. The Ram Truck brand sponsored monster truck lineup includes the Raminator and Rammunition. Tim Hall is the team's crew chief and mechanic, and is now a four time MTRA "Mechanic of the Year." Mark Hall, the seven-time "Driver of the Year" recipient races the Raminator.

Currently, the Raminator holds the 2014 Guinness World Records record for the "Fastest Speed for a Monster Trucker" reaching 99.10 mph and breaking the previous mark of 96.8 mph.

According to Dishman, cars were always a passion, so coming into the monster truck industry was no accident. He has been racing with the Hall Brothers Racing team for six years. In 2010, Dishman won the MTRA "Rookie-of-the-Year Award."

"I grew up in farm country, where I was always surrounded by cars and taking things a part and putting them back together," Dishman said. "I was born to be in the monster truck industry. As a young adult growing up and throughout high school, I knew I had to be part of the racing business. What an opportunity to work for one of the winningest teams in the racing industry and being able to learn from Tim and Mark Hall, I could't have better teachers."The best part of this job is being able to go around to different places to meet people and show off the truck," Dishman said. "It's cool setting up, and giving people the opportunity to get up close and personal."

When Dishman and Rammunition aren't touring dealerships and promotions around the country, they're on the track competing at Monster Jam events and the Monster Truck Nationals.

"Typically during races you're going down a straight road, sometimes you'll have multiple turns on smaller roads," he said.

The Rammunition and limited edition 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat will be on display during the event at the dealership on Glover Road in Sidney.

"We encourage everyone to come out," said Terri Buss of Maddox Motor Company. "We will be providing free lunch from Outlaw Barbeque from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m both days. At 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, we are also doing a drawing for $200 each day."

"I'm really looking forward to getting out to Sidney and meeting everybody," Dishman added. "We have a six-man truck team, so sometimes we don't always all get to go out and make appearances. It's nice to be able to stop and share what I do while visiting somewhere I haven't been before."
