Sidney's Hart, Thomas awarded 4-H Council scholarships

Allyson Hart and Raychel Thomas are the recipients of the 2015 Cheyenne County 4-H Council scholarships of $500 each for use at their chosen university or college.

Both 4-Hers are graduates of Sidney High School.

4-H is part of the county extension, which is a division of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln cooperating with the counties and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Hart is the daughter of Doug and Rita Hart of Sidney. She is a 10-year member of 4-H and is a member of Dryland Toughies 4-H Club and Junior Leader 4-H Club. She has served as an officer in both clubs. Her projects have included beef, poultry, foods, and fiber arts. Allyson plan to attend University of Nebraska in Kearney this fall and major in radiology.

Thomas is the daughter of Tim and Becky Thomas of Sidney. She is a 10-year member of the Dryland Toughies 4-H Club and her primary project is sheep. Raychel was selected as one of the 2015 Outstanding 4-H Club members. Raychel plans to attend Chadron State College and major in AgBusiness.
