Dalton Prairie Sooner Museum open Saturday and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. for the rest of the summer.

The Farmer’s Market is held on Saturdays through Oct. 10

at Hickory Street Square in Sidney from 8 -11 a.m.

The Bridge Marathon will begin playing again in September. Each pair plays once a month with different opponent and keeps a cumulative score through May. There is a fee to play which is donated to the Office for Mentally Retarded for their projects. If you would like to play, call Lynn Poppen at (308) 254-0704 or Kathy Mattoon (308) 254-6148. The Sidney AWANA Clubs will be holding it’s registration for the upcoming year for all children through 6th grade on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the Evangelical Free Church, 2463 11th Avenue in Sidney. Opening night for AWANA will be Wednesday September 2nd from 6:15 - 7:45 p.m. for all clubs. All clubs will meet at the Evangelical Free Church in Sidney. All Boys and Girls from 1 year prior to Kindergarden - 6th grade are invited to attend. AWANA is a great time for kids to play games, make friends and learn about the Bible. AWANA is held most Wednesdays throughout thew school year. Big events this year include the Fun Fair Carnival, Christmas Store, Bible Quiz, Pinewood Derby Race, Olympic Games, and annual Auction.

Cubbies Club is for kids in Kindergarden 4-5 years of age in preschool or one year prior to Kindergarden. The Sparks Club is for kids in Kindergarden - 2nd grade. The Matt Spinks Trio will perform at Hickory Street Square in downtown Sidney on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please bring your own seating. Food and drink available for purchase.

Sunday, Aug. 23

Senior Citizen and Friends Dance will be held at the Cheyenne County Community Center on Sunday, Aug. 23 from 2-5 p.m. Music by Country Rounders. Please bring a finger lunch.

Pairs-N-Half-Pairs Square Dance Club will have a dance in Kimball. It is in the old 4-H building in Kimball from 4 to 6 p.m. The caller is Roger Shappell.

Tuesday, Aug. 25

Runza Restaurants will conduct its 13th annual Great Books for Great Kids fundraiser on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Fifteen percent of sales that day from all locations will be donated. The money benefits local libraries, schools and literacy organizations and be used to purchase children’s books.

The Nebraska Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual legislative forum on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 7 a.m. at Dude’s Steakhouse in Sidney. The presentation will include key business-related bills from the 2015 session, upcoming issues and workforce challenges. Call (308) 254-5851 for reservations.
