Job's Daughters Bethel #25 garners state awards

Job's Daughters International, Bethel #25 of Sidney, recently competed in its annual state competition in Peru, Neb.

Members from the Sidney area who competed were: Abby Heller, Kate Huson, Jolene Oliverius, Janessa Carley, Autumn Hartwig, Raina Hartwig, Ginny Herboldsheimer, Jordan Cook, Amanda Beier and Josie Dowse.

Bethel #25 placed first in the Team Ritual Competition for a large bethel. It also took first in Team Signing to "Nearer My God to Thee," and third place in Team Choir Competition.

Earning second place in team Circle of Five were Heller, Oliverius, Carley, Cook and Huson. The bethel also received the Bethel Award of Distinction and the Kenyon-Kacere Award.

In individual competitions, the local members placed as follows:

•Heller won first place in Ceremony of Emblems and first place in Fifth Messenger Senior Division. Abby took second place in the JDI Knowledge Test in the Senior Division and first place in the Mary Gammel By-laws test.

•Huson received third place in the Second Messenger Senior Division and first place in the JDI Knowledge Test/Mary Gammel By-Laws test in the Senior Division.

•Oliverius received second place in Third Messenger Senior Division. She also received an Exemplary Leadership Award for her term as Honored Queen.

•Carley took second place in First Messenger Senior Division and first place in the JDI Knowledge Test in the Intermediate Division. Janessa was also installed as a Grand Bethel Officer – Second Messenger.

•Cook placed first in the senior division – Fourth Messenger, earning her a position on the Nebraska Supreme Team. She also placed first in Instrumental Competition – Piano. She was installed as a Grand Bethel Officer – Musician.

•Herboldsheimer received second place in Third Messenger Junior Division, earning her a position on the Nebraska Supreme Team. She also placed first in the JDI Knowledge Test in the Junior Division. She will also be a Grand Bethel Representative for the upcoming year.

•Dowse placed third in the Chaplain Competition and second place in the JDI Knowledge Test in the Junior Division. She will also be a Grand Bethel Representative for the upcoming year.

•Beier received third place in First Messenger Junior Division.

•Autumn Hartwig was installed as Grand Bethel Officer – First Messenger for the upcoming year.

•Raina Hartwig will serve as a Spirit Ambassador for the upcoming year.

Several arts/crafts awards were given to Autumn Hartwig, Raina Hartwig, Beier, Dowse, Cook and Carley. Bethel #25 also received a first place in Bethel Scrapbook.

Job's Daughters International is a girls' leadership organization founded in 1920 with membership in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the Philippines and Brazil. Job's Daughters is open to women ages 10-20 who have Masonic heritage.
