Olga E. Baack was born to Arthur and Ottilie Schuessler (Steffens) on April 17, 1918 in Wittenberg, Mo. They moved to the Potter area when she was just 6 weeks old. She grew up north of Potter, where she attended school, first in town and later on at St. Paul's Lutheran School, north of Potter. On June 6, 1938 Olga was united in marriage to Arthur Baack. To this union were born 4 children.

Art and Olga moved from the farm north of Potter to 11th Avenue in Sidney in 1973. She continued to live there, after Art's death in March of 1995, until 2010 when she moved to the Sloan Estates and then later to the SRMCEC facility. Olga was active. She was a member of the Social Neighbor's Club, the Ladies Aid and LWML. On the farm she was the all-around farmer's wife: cooking, canning, baking, sewing and doing any thing else that needed doing. She loved to write letters and remember people with cards and notes of encouragement. When she moved to town she was passionate about caring for her garden, yard and flowers. She was always working in her yard, and many times her beautiful flowers would cause passers-by to stop and take pictures. Inside the home she was equally busy with quilting, (hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief) sewing and crocheting. Olga was a dedicated volunteer! Meals on Wheels, the Living Memorial Gardens, and the nursing homes were a few of the beneficiaries of Olga's time. She walked and exercised whenever she could. She walked enough miles at the recreation center to earn the T-shirt "I walked across Nebraska!" of which she was very proud! All of her life Olga was a dedicated "prayer warrior", having a long list of people whom she would pray for daily. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior and a blessing to many.

Olga is survived by her children, Larry (Marilyn) Baack, of Columbus, Ind., Donna Carr of Montgomery, TX, Pamela (Paul) Jensen of Lincoln, sister, Vanita Katschor, of Traverse City, Mich., brother, Harold (Bonnie) Schuessler, of Cheyenne, Wyo., (11) grandchildren and (19) great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special extended family members Gary and Carol Kurz. Olga was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, son, Allen, sister/brother-in-law, Mildred (John) Katschor, brother/sister-in-law, Herbert (Annabelle) Schuessler, brother-in-law, Carl Katschor and son-in-law, Lloyd D. Carr.

Your Mom was a very special lady. A woman of strong faith, that lived her life daily reflective of her religion and believes. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with the family.
