Louis "Louie" Martinez Enriquez


Louis "Louie" Martinez Enriquez, formerly of Sidney, a devoted family man, passed away in his home after battling leukemia, surrounded by his loving family. He was 82.

Louie was born in Bayard. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie (Troidl) Enriquez; son, Philip Enriquez of Golden, Colo; daughter and son-in-law Dana and Doug Mietzner of Highlands Ranch, Colo .; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sharyn Enriquez, of Greenwood Village, Colo .; and daughter Renee Umholtz of Greeley, Colo .; a sister, Deloris Hernandez, and two brothers Joe Enriquez and John Enriquez; Ten grandsons and three grand-daughters, three great-grandchildren and two on the way.

Louie was owner of the Yendis Café restaurant in Sidney from 1976 to 1982. He was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated several liquor stores in Colorado and continued to work after age 65, for attorney Brian Moore until he and Marjorie retired together at age 78.

Louie is remembered for his endless unconditional love and service for others. Always placing others needs before his own. He adored his family and especially his grandchildren.
