Sidney, Creek Valley compete at Gering

Raider girls finish third in cross country season opener

With 62 points, the Sidney girls' cross country team finished in third place at the Gering Invite on Friday at its season opener.

The Raiders were topped in the standings by the Scottsbluff Bearcats with 22 points and the Gering Bulldogs with 51. The 5K race was run at the Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering.

Leading the way for Sidney were Erin Lindeman and Jami Flores, who were 11th and 13th overall. Lindeman completed the course in 22:38 with Flores just seven seconds back. A pair of sophomores, Chantal Riggs (23:01) and Charlie Brockhaus (23:17), were the third and fourth runners to...
