The Farmer’s Market is held on Saturdays through Oct. 10

at Hickory Street Square in Sidney from 8-11 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 1

The Sidney Public Library will host author Tim Smith, also known as Buck Wilder, on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 10:15 a.m. His presentation will be for children ages 4 through primary school age. It will reflect on his love of the outdoor life and the books he’s written about that topic.

Oct. 2-8

The annual Yuma (Colo.) Arts Association Show, Exhibit and Sale will be held Oct. 2-8 at the First Presbyterian Church in Yuma. Anyone can enter art as long as it is ready to display or as a 3-D piece for a table or the floor. You may bring up to 10 additional items to sell. Enter from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the Presbyterian Church, 110 W. 4th Ave., Yuma. Saturday, Oct. 3

The Sidney High School Class of 1955 will hold its 60th reunion on Oct. 3-4. Alumni from other classes are welcome to visit them on Saturday at the Country Inn at 664 Chase Blvd. from 5-7 p.m.

Fri.-Sun., Oct. 2-4

The annual Oktoberfest festivities will be held in Sidney over the weekend of Oct. 2-4. There is continuous free entertainment in the tent at the Cheyenne Fairgrounds, a beer garden, ethnic food, craft show, downtown parade, farmer’s market, live dance bands Friday and Saturday, a car show and wiener dog races.

Saturday, Oct. 3

Sprenger Financial Solutions/New York Life are holding a fundraising breakfast at 6:30 a.m. through the Oktoberfest parade on Saturday, Oct. 3, located at the Cabela’s South parking lot (Corner of 14th and Illinois). Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and beverage. Proceeds go to the Cheyenne County Pavilion Fund.

Tuesday, Oct. 6

A Parkinson’s support group for the Western Nebraska area meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 312 W. 16th St., Alliance. Call Dee Brauninger at (308) 763-1254 with questions or email her at [email protected].

Halloween Candy Buyback

2015 will be held on Monday, Nov. 2nd from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at LifeSmiles of Sidney located at 1040 Old Post Road, 308-254-7171. Trade your Halloween candy for Money and Fabulous prizes!!! Open to kids age 2-12. Candy must be new and in its original packaging. $1 per pound up to 5 pounds. Candy will be donated to the troops through Operation Gratitude. Support our troops!
