Sidney 8th-grade volleyball team wins title

Sidney Middle School's eighth-grade "B" team won the championship in the 2015 8th Grade Volleyball Jamboree in Mitchell on Monday.

This is the second consecutive championship for the 8th graders.

The team defeated Alliance's "A" team in three sets to start of the night. The Raiders went on to defeat Gering in two sets and then downed Scottsbluff in three sets.

"The girls kept their focus and played hard through some tough matches," said Sidney coach Judi Roach. "I'm very proud of the teamwork and competitiveness that they showed."
