1968 to 2015

A Celebration of Life Service for Lara Preston Hunt, 47 of O’Neill, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at the Faith Community Church in O’Neill. Lara passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Mark, of O’Neill; one son, Jonathan Hunt of O’Neill; her father Richard Preston and his wife Pamela Curtis of Milton, Del.; her mother Sue Preston of Sidney; 3 brothers: Galen Preston and wife Deb of Omaha, Chris Preston of Lincoln, Daniel Preston and wife Kari of Finn Rock, Ore.; 3 nephews: Greg, Josh, and Malcolm Preston, aunts, uncles, and many other relatives and friends.

Lara was born on August 10, 1968, in Springfield, Ill., to Richard and Sue (Davis) Preston. She graduated from Sidney High School, then attended Doane College for 2 years, where she met Mark. They were married on July 16, 1994 in Sprague, Neb.

Lara worked as a para educator; she also worked at Great Western Bank. She loved working with people. She was a member of the P.E.O.

Lara was a generous and loving mother. She loved her son Jonathan very much. She was fascinated by ancient religions, and loved being outdoors. She felt a strong connection to nature and loved just sitting by the rivers and Atlantic Ocean in Delaware where she was at peace. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Verna Davis and her paternal grandparents, Harold and Eudelle Preston.
