P-D rolls at Paxton Triangular

A trip to the Paxton Triangular on Thursday afternoon could have presented at least one big test for the Potter-Dix High School volleyball team.

Instead, the Lady Coyotes sailed to a pair of easy victories to improve to 16-2 this season.

Potter-Dix defeated host Paxton 25-15, 25-19 in its opening match and then dispatched Stapleton 25-14, 25-14 in the nightcap.

The Lady Coyotes were potentially facing a tough task against Paxton, which lost just its third match of the season to slip to 16-3.

Alexus Rozelle recorded 13 kills and 13 digs for Potter-Dix in the win and teammate Regyn Hicks had 11 digs and five kills. Anna McLaughlin contributed seven kills for the Lady Coyotes, who also received 25 assists from Lanie Thies. Dawson Sharman also added 10 digs, four kills and two blocks.

Later in the evening, Sharman knocked down eight kills and Hicks provided 18 digs and four kills to pace the Potter-Dix attack. Rozelle had six kills and 12 digs while Thies doled out 20 assists.

Potter-Dix returns to action on Monday when it travels to the Garden County Triangular. Wallace will also participate. The Lady Coyotes' first match starts at 5.
