CV loses tough game to Morrill

Creek Valley High’s football team came up just short from collecting its first win of the season Friday night, falling to Morrill 38-20.

The Storm (0-6) led 6-0 after the first quarter and 12-8 at halftime.

With Morrill clinging to a 16-12 lead after three periods, the Lions outscored Creek Valley 22-8 in the final quarter to pull away. Morrill improved to 3-3.

Creek Valley quarterback Pierce Leef ran for 100 yards and passed for another 91 yards in the loss. He ran for two touchdowns and passed for one in the loss.

CV’s Austin Rowley caught five passes for 42 yards.
