Leyton posts second consecutive victory

Leyton High School’s Kordell Maestas had another big night running the ball as the Warriors won for the second consecutive week.

Maestas rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries to help propel Leyton to a 40-22 victory over Hay Springs (1-5).

After an 0-4 start, the Warriors now stand at 2-4 heading into next Friday’s matchup with unbeaten Garden County (6-0).

Besides Maestas’ big game, Morley Haley ran for 87 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and Kenny Ernest caught three passes for 41 yards.
