Karl Elmshaeuser files for District 47 seat

Karl Elmshaeuser filed the appropriate paperwork needed to form a campaign committee to run for state legislature.

Elmshaeuser is seeking election to the District 47 seat in the Nebraska Legislature. District 47 is made up of Arthur, Banner, Cheyenne, Deuel, Garden, Keith, Morrill, Sioux and parts of Box Buttee counties. The seat will be open due to term limits.

Elmshaeuser hand delivered the form to the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission in Lincoln. Candidates are required to form a campaign committee once they have either raised or spent $5,000.

“We have formed the Karl for Nebraska Committee with the help of a number of supporters throughout the district.” Elmshaeuser said. “I am very appreciative for the encouragement and support I have received since announcing my candidacy just last month.”

Elmshaeuser said his priorities include goals for broad base tax relief, controlled government spending, economic and community development and a continued emphasis on education.

Elmshaeuser is executive director for the West Central Nebraska Development District that assists 18 counties, and 58 communities with state and federal grant programs for public infrastructure and economic development. He also serves as the secretary/treasurer for the Nebraska Regional Officials Council, and he serves on the Ogallala City Council.
