Sidney runners punch tickets to state meets

Boys finish second, girls third at districts

Three Sidney boys' lead the way.

Both the boys' and girls' cross country teams at Sidney High School qualified for the Class C state tournament with stellar efforts at Thursday afternoon's district meet.

Each squad's top-three finish automatically earned a spot in the Class C state meet next Friday, Oct. 23 held at the Kearney Country Club.

In the district meet, the Red Raider boys finished second – just two points behind Mitchell.

Four boys finished in the top 10 for Sidney and five crossed the line in the top 15.
