Families flock to annual Hay Day Festival

Several locals turned out for the 12th annual Hay Day Festival at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds last Saturday.

The event was hosted by the Cool Kids Club/No Limits, Kids Plus, 4-H and the Cheyenne County Community Center. The festival included face painting, cookie decorating, cake walks, carnival booths, refreshments and bounce houses.

According to Cool Kids program director Coleen Langdon, this event is a way to provide a low-cost, family event during the Halloween season.

One of the main events at the festival included a costume contest with categories ranging from infants to family costumes. Prizes given away to costume contest winners included toys, sports equipment, art supplies and a one year membership to the Cheyenne County Community Center.
