Winless Creek Valley loses finale


The season ended on a sour note for the Creek Valley High School football team, losing 57-8 to Dundy County-Stratton on Friday night.

The Storm finished the season 0-8, while Dundy County improved to 4-4.

Creek Valley has now lost 40 consecutive games. Its last win came against Banner County on Oct. 22, 2010.

On Friday, Storm quarterback Pierce Leef completed 6 of 16 passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. Austin Rowley hauled in four catches for 51 yards and scored the lone TD.

Josh Schievelbein carried the ball 16 times for 54 yards on ther night. He also scored the team’s 2-point PAT. Garrett Sawyer paced the defense with eight tackles.
