Consider how these two scenarios played out last Friday night:

Sidney High School needed a touchdown in the final minutes to pull out a victory against a team on a 21-game losing streak and earn a spot in the Class B state football tournament. Meanwhile, Elkhorn South needed double overtime to cap an undefeated regular season and maintain its No. 1 ranking in several statewide polls.
