Sidney freshman Payton Jung (No. 9) gets the tip against Aurora in the sub-state playoff game last Saturday. Jung had 11 kills, two aces and two blocks in the Lady Raiders' 3-0 loss.
AURORA - The Sidney Lady Raiders varsity volleyball squad ended its 2015 season last Saturday as the team fell 3-0 (21-25, 24-26, 16-25) to Aurora's Lady Huskies in sub-state playoff action.
Despite the loss, the Lady Raiders played hard throughout the entire game and put together an especially well-played second set – as Sidney forced a showdown that lasted only until the Lady Huskies were able to go up 26-24 for the win.
In the third set, down 24-15 to Aurora, the Lady Raiders kept fighting for points as Maddi Porter dug hard for a scoring return and a 16th point.
