Big blizzard a bust for Sidney

Several local schools were canceled or had late starts due to the colder temperatures, wind and snow Wednesday morning.

According to Shawn Liebl, a meteorologist at the Cheyenne, Wyo., Weather Forecast Office, Sidney had no snow accumulation and weather warnings were canceled around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

"South and east of Sidney toward Ogallala experienced worse conditions," Liebl said. "Sidney was pretty much missed. Areas north and around Scottsbluff saw two to three inches of snow. It really varied depending on where you were."
