The Lodgepole, Sidney and Chappell volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire southwest of Sunol on Friday night.

Cheyenne County Sheriff John Jenson said the damage was extreme. "The house is pretty much a total loss," he said.

The fire, at a residence along County Road 16, was first reported around 9:40 p.m. The last unit on scene left at 7 a.m. the next morning.

One resident was treated for smoke inhalation and another for an injury sustained while leaving the house, Jenson said.

A Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire.
