Peetz boys split with Gering, Caliche in home opener

The Peetz boys’ basketball team split the win-loss column over the weekend, falling in Friday’s opening round of the Carlile Classic tournament to Caliche, 60-43, though the squad rebounded for a win against the Gering JV team on Saturday, 75-54.

Despite the tough loss to Caliche – a team Peetz has a tough time getting the number of year-to-year – Bulldogs forward Cody Wilson put together an outstanding performance by shooting five-of-eight from the floor, adding a three-pointer and four free throws to lead with 15 points in the game.
