Wilson nets a double-double in Peetz win

Cody Wilson’s double-double led the Peetz Bulldogs boys’ basketball team to a 54-35 win over league for Prairie on Friday.

Wilson scored 24 points, all on two-pointers, to lead the team. The junior added to his offensive showing by grabbing 10 defensive rebounds for the best overall performance he has displayed this season. He also added two assists and two steals.

Another strong showing came from senior Jordan Nelson as he contributed eight points and snagged a total of 11 rebounds.

In terms of dishing the ball to open shooters, Logan Sircy, a sophomore, led with five assists. He also scored seven points, put together seven rebounds, grabbed a steal and was the sole three-point shooter of the game, going 1-of-2 from outside.

Other scorers for Peetz were: Bryson Long (5), Patrick Naegele (4), Tyler Gentry (2), Tre Fehringer (2) and Garrin Cox (2).

The win ups the Bulldogs’ overall record to 4-2 overall and the squad is 2-0 in 1A North Central standings.

Peetz will travel to Creek Valley on Jan. 5.
