Local students earn academic all-state awards

Several local students have been honored by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) for the fall 2015 academic all-state awards.

Sidney students who received the award are: Brenner Keane and Jacob Schaub, boys cross country; Abigail Heller and Mia Hernandez, girls cross country; Alex Linneman and Hunter Secrest, football; Rachel Blauert and Megan Neal, girls golf; Cameron Baldwin and Mitchell Verhulst, play production; and Annalise Lecher and Emily Mahr, volleyball.

Creek Valley students who received the award are: Keith Everitt, boys cross country; Pierce Leef, football; and Payje Misegadis and Samantha Schmid, volleyball.

Leyton students who received the award are: Tanner Bellmeyer and Kenny Ernest, football; Rhett Dye, play production; and Taylor Berner and Katie Higgins, volleyball.

Potter-Dix students who received the award are: Coby Hicks and Noah Nelson, football; Brooke Glass and Justice Palmer, play production; and Regyn Hicks and Audrey Juelfs, volleyball.

Since 2006, this NSAA award program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity. Each year the NSAA and the NCPA recognize students during fall, winter and spring seasons who are nominated by their schools for their individual academic excellence, leadership and significant contributions in their NSAA activity.
