Creek Valley and Leyton each won over the weekend, while Potter-Dix picked up a pair of victories. Peetz split its two contests, which included an overtime loss.
Creek Valley 42, Minatare 33
Creek Valley took control in the second half in its 42-33 win Friday at Minatare.
The Storm (6-4) outscored the Indians (4-1) 22-10 in the final two quarters to erase a 23-20 halftime deficit.
Brett Godfrey led three Creek Valley players in double figures with 13 points. Colin Brott added 11 points, while Gage Koenen scored 10 points.
Keith Everitt led the Storm on the boards with 13 rebounds, Brott had a team-high four assists and Godfrey led the way with four steals.
Creek Valley is back in action Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Haxtun, Colo.
Leyton 69, Hay Springs 44
Leyton jumped out to the early lead as it rolled to a 69-44 win Saturday over visiting Hay Springs.
The Warriors (4-4) took a 14-7 first quarter lead and held a 29-17 advantage at halftime. They expanded that lead to 49-27 heading into the final period.
Skylar Schumacher exploded for 26 points to lead Leyton offensively, shooting 60 percent (12-of-20) from the floor. He hit 11-of-17 shots from inside the arc, connected on 1-of-3 treys and hit 1-of-2 free throws.
Kenny Ernest also had a stellar night for the Warriors, netting a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Zach Hellie and Teghan Osborne each had five assists for Leyton, while Osborne also had a team-high five steals.
Leyton is back to action Tuesday with a 7 p.m. road contest at Bridgeport.
Potter-Dix 59, Bayard 50
Potter-Dix 49, SP 48
Potter-Dix opened the weekend with a 59-50 win over visiting Bayard on Friday.
The Coyotes (3-4) held a 3-point lead at the half before expanding the lead to 10 at the end of the third quarter.
Coby Hicks led four Potter-Dix players in double figures with 15 points. Sam Bogert and Edward Barnes added 12 points each, while Cole Christensen scored 10 points for the Coyotes.
Kelsey Rozelle led the team with six rebounds and two steals.
The Coyotes took the early lead and held off a ferocious comeback by South Platte to win on the road, 49-48, on Saturday.
Potter-Dix led 24-13 at halftime and held a 40-28 advantage heading into the final quarter. South Platte outscored Potter-Dix 20-9 in the final quarter as the Coyotes held on for the 1-point victory.
Noah Nelson led the Coyotes offensively with 12 points, while Christensen added 11. Christensen also had a team-high seven rebounds, and Barnes chipped in with five.
The Coyotes host Kimball on Tuesday.
Peetz 55, Briggsdale 21
Meringo 52, Peetz 45 (OT)
Peetz split a pair of games this weekend.
The Bulldogs rolled to a 55-21 home win Friday against Briggsdale. They then dropped a 52-45 overtime game Saturday at Merino. The game was tied at 43-all heading into overtime Saturday, when Merino outscored Peetz 9-2 in the extra period.
No statistics were available at press time.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday with a 7:30 p.m. home contest against Fleming.
